WHO AM I?
This is a pretty loaded question!
It's meant to be the section where I tell you about me, my background, what I've done, so you can assess 'who I am' from your own perspective.
Words are so interesting yet incredibly misleading. When you read this heading, do you ask 'Who is asking the question here?' - Is it about me, or you?
Yes! I like to get to the root of things - find its source - it could be about either of us! After all we do come from the same 'Ocean'. My life is about exploring and expressing this connection.
This is a current photograph because I'm happy enough with being 'who I am', right now. I could have chosen a much younger version, but do you know I've waited long enough to look old enough to be taken seriously! We all have reasons for our 'procrastination' and this was one of mine. I always looked so much younger than I am, so I felt a fraud in some weird kind of way!
I would tell myself "Everyone else knows just as much as me, how can I ever be inspiring or bring anything new to the table?" Entirely forgetting that each and every one of us is totally unique and anything offered would be 'new' to the table.
I came to a turning point a decade ago (it can take that long!) and now I know that life does not go on forever. If I do not share now, I never will, so here I am pulling out all the stops, facing all the fears I have left and offering myself up to you.
A wealth of knowledge; I have been collecting These 'tools' over the years and this decade is the time for me to share them with you. I do not own any of them but am testament to the amazing possibilities they offer towards 'Self' Knowledge and remembrance.
The closest label I could put on my 'practice' is Kriya or Raj Yoga (yoga of the mind) which I have been using for over thirty five years. If I were to label my 'philosophy' in life (and this is definitely not my priority or inclination but for the sake of understanding) it would likely be 'Taoism' (living in sensitive response to natural law: the Tao). or 'Gnosis' (Experiential knowledge of the truth) .
I have searched for many years for a universal language to express this essence and I find many spiritual philosophies and ancient religions refer to a source which unites them all.
I realise there is no such unifying 'language' as such,
Only Experience, which is the first hand knowledge of the 'Self' and the only real mediator for this.
Each 'Life' is a path to wholeness, given as a gift of uniqueness to Express, Celebrate and Share with Others.
EARLY DAYS
I was born into a nomadic lifestyle, growing up in the 50's and 60's. My parents moved every 18 months and I did too. We spent time in England, Scotland, Ireland and Malaysia. I loved all these places and I learnt early on how to let go!
At twenty-one I came to a crossroads in my life and it was hard to choose which way to go. I felt lost and disconnected at this time and then I met my Spiritual Teacher and rediscovered my 'way'
"when the student is ready, the teacher appears"
I began my 'creative' career designing knitwear and working with textiles of all kinds because this was my passion - Colour & Texture. I met my partner and husband and we supported our two children on the proceeds of my twenty year 'cottage industry' knitwear business in Covent Garden, London. It was very satisfying to be self employed and to be doing just what I wanted to do - create!
EXPANSION
I studied Counselling with the C.A.C. and also during this period qualified as a Homoeopath with the London College of Classical Homoeopathy. It was amazing to be able to treat my children when the doctors had nothing to offer. The philosophy held true to my own, that the body has an amazing amount of intelligence and is constantly offering us clues about who we are, and reflecting that through its symptoms. The balance of Art and Science appealed to me, the emphasis on 'Vital Force' and the simple analogy that 'Like cures Like' resonated. It felt good to be in step with my destiny.
When the public stopped buying knitwear, because wool went out of fashion and man-made fibres became the 'in' thing, we began to make soap, lotions & potions!
Our house and work place was converted slowly from two flats into a lovely family home over looking Alexander Palace park in London. We had bought it cheaply and were now able to sell up and move to a place more rural - for me a dream come true.
MOVING ON
Unbeknown to me, we moved to a county town and later a village, just a few miles from where my ancestors once lived and died! Serendipity is such a joy.
I wanted to bring all aspects of my creativity together under one roof, so we took a risk and opened a shop. 'Sustainable lifestyle' - retail therapy! We stocked everything Organic, as local as possible and shared the ethics of sustainability, simplicity and friendliness with our customers. I began by selling my knitwear brand but soon ran out of time to design, so supported other designers. Our soaps became well known and although the business was successfully passed on in 2012, we continue to supply the shop with our body care and lifestyle essentials.
Upstairs we opened a Holistic health centre where we support all kinds of complementary therapies. It is still running with Clinical Hypnotherapy, Reiki, E.F.T and Homoeopathy, to name a few.
LIVING IN ALIGNMENT
In 2005 we bought a derelict Methodist Chapel located high up in the Shropshire Hills an area called The Stiperstones. The chapel, (built by the Primitive Methodists served the mining community, hence its location high in the hills) was begging to be loved again and we couldn't resist the challenge. We have a soap making workshop there and I have a studio for all my creative ventures. I hold creative workshops now and then, on demand, and spend most of my days in the garden which I have transformed from a field of bracken and Herb Robert, Couch Grass, Brambles and Nettles into a small but productive Permaculture garden with a teaming wildlife pond bordering a tiny piece of ancient woodland with bluebells an array of birds and wildness. I love it! I am happiest here, in Nature.
This was a desire I had as a child to live in a wild place, but I only remembered this desire once the chapel came along - it's incredible how the universe does 'provide' in such amazing detail.
Desire is a powerful emotion and essential for manifestation. My life long passion has been to inspire others to live their desires, because ultimately they are with us to pull us nearer to who we really are and eventually to stand side by side with our destiny in fulfilment.
In 2017 I would like to open this space to artists and seekers, to share with others because it is so beautiful here, steeped in history and within an area of 'Outstanding Natural Beauty' perfect for the inspiration and quietude we all need from time to time in our busy lives.

PULLING IT ALL TOGETHER
As I approach my 9th seven year cycle or my 7th nine year cycle (Wow! I love these two numbers, so intertwined), it seems appropriate now to share what I have been given and still gathering along my way.
I am hopelessly curious about 'patterns' - all kinds of patterns - I see them everywhere! There's a chance the word 'probabilities' could be used here instead, as nothing is really fixed in stone once we recognise them, and choose to slip into 'Intention' and create what we really want. Patterns are just 'patterns' and we are all susceptible in one way or another to them. They can be used to give us permission to 'be' what we 'are' because they operate within the realms of The 'Story', The 'Dream'.
For me it is about waking up to these patterns, conditioning, possibilities, limitations, allowances - however we may perceive them - Everything is designed to help, to assist, to nudge us into 'SELF' Awareness. Some of these 'patterns' form the TOOLS that I have used to differentiate aspects of my SELF. These parts I divide into three attributes:
ME, MY'SELF', & I = The Royal 'WE' or (W)holy Trinity !
I continue to explore these sides of my'self' with discernment, in order to live more fully in
Awareness and Self Respect
